The Teaching Oceania Series of books from the Center for Pacific Islands Studies at UH Mānoa offers the volume Gender in the Pacific – a free, open access book, available in multiple formats, which presents more information on concepts and practices of gender and gender identity in the Pacific. The UHM library offers a library guide, “Gender Identity and Sexual Identity in the Pacific and Hawaiʻi: Introduction,” which includes an overview, definitions of common terms, relevant organizations, resources, and research tools and strategies.
